This LA County regional initiative unites the strategies
from higher education, workforce development, economic development,
and business/industry leaders. It couples contract education
resources through workforce development agencies, college
business and workforce departments, and human resource departments
of select industry sectors. Under the theme of collaboration,
the initiative develops the skills of existing workers and
offers information to career-transitioning/ unemployed workers
seeking good-paying jobs and careers. It provides information
to students who are interested in starting a business and
aligns college-based departments under a Pathway--driven
learning model. |

In

this LA County- focused initiative works with business and
industry leaders to develop a workforce, entrepreneurial,
and economic development strategy that offers a targeted
service model and an array of public educational options,
a series of special projects funded under the Workforce
Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA), and leveraged industry
